This body of work centers on the creation of sculptural forms shaped through processes of pressure, refinement, and assembly. The resulting pieces function as contemplative objects—holding space for reflection on the profound cycles of transformation found in both nature and human experience.
Viridian Drift (The Offering)
A Study in Regional Materiality
Dimensions: 13.5" L x 8.5" W x 6.25" H (Overall); 9" L x 5.5" W x 3.5" D (Vessel insert)
Medium: Patinated reclaimed copper, salvaged freshwater driftwood sourced in Pennsylvania.
Artist Statement:
Viridian Drift (The Offering) establishes a dialogue between the organic structure of the naturally weathered driftwood pedestal and the rigidity of the hand-formed copper vessel it cradles. The copper element is a forged object, retaining subtle hammer marks that speak to its deliberate creation. It is subsequently patinated with a vibrant verdigris, which accelerates the natural aging process to transform post-industrial media into a study of temporal beauty and environmental commentary. This assemblage blurs the lines between functional craft, sculpture, and a narrative of renewal.

Water's Edge (Cradle & Form)
A Dialogue in Materiality
Dimensions:
Sculpture (including bowl): approximately 17.25"H, 9.25"W, 5"D, Bowl: 6 x 4.5", 2.5" D
Medium: Patinated reclaimed copper, salvaged freshwater driftwood sourced in Pennsylvania.
Artist Statement:
This work investigates the transformative potential inherent within discarded natural and industrial media. The composition functions as a study in balanced assemblage, juxtaposing the organic, weathered texture of the driftwood matrix with the refined, hammered surface of the hand-formed copper vessel.
The deliberate application of verdigris patination on the copper element accelerates the natural processes of time and exposure, blurring the boundaries between decay and intentional aesthetic refinement. This piece serves as a formal exploration of tension and harmony, utilizing regional provenance to ground a narrative of material reinvention within the contemporary art landscape.
